In order for a fingerprint device to work correctly with BlueStep, special software must be installed.  BlueStep fingerprint technology employs other technologies, including Java technology from Oracle Corporation and biometric technology from Neurotechnology.  In addition to installing these other software technologies, the following steps must be completed on each computer using a fingerprint device.

These steps only need to be completed one time for each computer.

1. Contact BlueStep and have Biometrics enabled.
2. Install the fingerprint device using the manufacturers driver.
3. Install Java 8 or later. 
4. Install our Biometric Service:
   • Windows 64bit Download
   • Windows 32bit Download
5. Sign in to your Bluestep HQ site and navigate to the Community>Community Record>Biometric>Biometric Licenses and click on the "Save license to computer" button (each computer will needs its own license).

Each person using this feature will need to have the Biometric Enrollment enabled on their "Online Profile" form and then enroll their fingerprints.

1. Go to a staff record> Online Profile form.
2. Enable Biometrics.  If there is no Enable Biometrics, contact BlueStep to have this feature enabled.
3. Click Biometric "Edit" button.
4. Enroll your fingerprints.
5. Save the form.
6. Try signing in with your fingerprint.  Congratulations!
