The Care Unit represent a group of Resident who's ADLs will be provided by a CNA assigned to that group.  The designation of which group a specific Resident is assigned to is specified in the individual worksheet found in the navigation on the left side of the Resident's page.  The location is under Admit Resident. Care unit designations can be made when the resident in first entered or at a later date.  

To review all care group assignments on the CNA Charting navigation tab select Primary Care Unit.  The listing is grouped by the Primary Care Unit number then by room number, Secondary care unit, Resident's name and location. The secondary care unit is for any shift that has reduced ADL to perform such as a night shift were additional rooms can be assigned to the CNAs. 

  • Select any Resident without a care unit assignment or one you wish to change. 
  • The Individual Worksheet for that Resident will be displayed. 
  • The selection "Primary care Unit", colored green, and enter the number of the care unit then enter a number for the secondary care unit.
  • Any number between 1 and 10 is valid. However it is the primary care should be in the first group of numbers and the some higher numbers reserved for the secondary group.
  • At the bottom of the page click on "Save" and the ADL Scheduling screen will again appear.  Continue untill all Residents have been assigned a care unit.  
  • You may change any Care Unit number by the same process   

Secondary care your listing is found as Secondary Care Unit and functions the same as the Primary Care Unit listing.
